I'm lost! Do you have a map?

Why yes, we do have a venue map (see left)! You can also get your bearings from Google Maps.

Other social events

Sunday Night - Closing Party:

To celebrate a successful conference we will be heading to Jack Greene for some tasty burgers and drinks Sunday night after the conference close. We have the upstairs room booked exclusively for PyCon Australia delegates!

Monday Night:

For those interested in trying some of Tasmania's best Whiskeys (and some of the best in the world) we will be heading to the Lark Distillery Monday night after the first day of sprinting from 7pm onwards. We suggest you find food first as they only serve bar snacks.

What clothes should I bring?

The average temperature range in July is 4º--12ºC so pack lots of warm clothes. Hobart experiences a little rainfall in July, but you should still pack expecting rain.

How do I get to Wrest Point?

Google Maps will help get you directions. One of our past presenters, Benno Rice, has made http://pycon-meetup.jeamland.net/ available, which you can use to meet other delegates on your flight into Hobart, and arrange to share rides from the airport to Wrest Point.

My shirt is the wrong size!

Swaps of shirts will be available only after morning tea on Sunday. If your shirt doesn't fit you and the size is the one you purchased you may be able to swap it at the registration desk. Please do not wear the shirt if you intend on swapping it.

What is the easiest way to get around the city?

Metro TAS is the local public transport provider. There are a couple of stops along Sandy Bay Rd (next to the hotel) that go to the city (and return to). Check out this timetable.
